Oasis emerged from the working-class town of Burnage in Manchester, England, in the early 1990s. The band was formed by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, along with Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan, and Tony McCarroll. Oasis' music was a blend of classic rock and roll, psychedelic pop, and electronica, and their songs were often characterized by Liam's distinctive vocals and Noel's catchy songwriting. The band's debut album, Definitely Maybe, was released in 1994 and was an instant success, spawning the hit singles "Supersonic," "Live Forever," and "Wonderwall."
